Today we prepare Odisha famous Besana Dantikili….its so yummy in taste ,a perfect evening snacks…with a hot cup of tea. You can give for kids tiffin box, carry this for short trips…a perfect time pass for train journey or for picnic spot. So lets get started this recipe with all tips n tricks…

Preparation Time 5 min
Frying Time 3 to 4 min per batch
Serving Persons 5 to 7

Ingredients
1 cup besan
1 cup rice flour
2 tsp oil
½ tsp carom seeds
½ tsp cumin seeds
½ tsp cumin powder
½ tsp red chili powder
1 tsp kashmiri red chili powder
1 tsp sesame seeds
a pinch of asafoetida
Black Salt to taste
¼ cup+2tsp water
OIL to deep fry

Procedure

Heat the2tsp oil.
Take both the flours n add the hot oil to this.
Mix it properly so that oil is well incorporated with the flour.
Then add all the rest spices to this…
Rub the carom seeds and add to the flour.
Now add water to the flour mixture little by little…and knead to a medium soft dough like roti.
Rest the dough for 10 to 15 min.
Meanwhile heat oil for deep frying.
Grease the cylinder part of the dantikili mould.
Now fill the dough in the dantikili mould…n fix on both sides.
Take a spatula…n coat it with oil.
Press the gun point  so that the dough comes out of the mould…
Simultaneously rotate it in circular motion so that a proper dantikili can be prepared.
You can do this directly on the hot oil too.
Now flip the spatula into hot oil…and the dantikili r murukku fell down into hot oil.
Deep fry these in high flame..
Turn between so that these murukku are evenly fried n turns into golden colour.
Enjoy these with hot tea…

Notes

The oils hould be incorporated with the flour properly so that when we take some portion and bind it,it will for a shape.
In this way the dantikili are more crunchy.
Always rub the carom seends and add to the flour to enhance the flavour.
You can add ginger paste too.
Fry these dantikili in high flame, otherwise it is hard in texture.
