Idli when u thinking to prepare so long process n time taken..u hv to soak udad daal n rice, grind it n keep overnight to ferment…but in this recipe no need of these things at all…today morning only I prepared this jhatpat idiy n u cant differentiate it from the regular one…

This superb idea I hv taken from a friend of a cookery group…did little verification by adding lemon juice n eno.

So now u can welcome your guests with this super quick idly n surprise them…Lets dig into the recipe detail

Preparation time 5 min
Cooking time 10 min
Serving Persons 4

Ingredients

1.5 cup thick poha
2 cup idly rawa
1/2 cup curd
1 tbsp lemon juice
Salt to taste
1 sachet eno fruit salt
Oil to coat the idli mould
Procedure

Take the poha,wash it properly.
Now add little water and soak for 10 min covering a lid,so that it will not dry.

Now add  idly rawa  n curd to this.

Take half batter as eno effect will remains for sometimes,so need to take in batch form.

Add salt, lemon juice n eno to this to make a semi thick batter like idly batter.

Boil sufficient water.

Coat the idli mould with oil so that  when we demould idli it will not stick to the mould.

In high flame steam the idli for 10 min.

Remove it and make it cool down.

Now demould and serve with chutney…

Note:

I have taken thick poha here as some grocery are not available now a dayz in Jakarta.

If we use thin poha no need to soak,just add curd to this.

 Mix it,after some time it softens.

Then mash with hands so no grinding also required.

Using of lemon juice to enhance the taste…n I have used eno to make idly fluffy n soft.

You can use baking soda also instead of eno.

The batter is thick initially as later we add eno and it start fermenting.
So it will be semi thick after that.

For regular idli the steaming time is 10 min,but I have prepared mini idli also.

It takes around 7 min as small in size.
