Yes Friends you heard it right…today we prepare Naan that to without yeast, without tandoor and withput oven also…simply on Tava. And this one you can make on any tava…it can be iron tava, non stick tava.Sometime people experience in non stick tava…when they turn the naan on open flame…it fall down from tava…so I show you a simplest method. This method I learnt from my friend Shalu ji…so thanks to her.
And today I show you the instant naan so that you can quickly prepare this and that to have restaurant taste…no need to proof it.So lets get started…
Preparation Time 10 min
Cooking Time 2 min per naan
Serving Persons 4 to 6
3 cups all purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
½ tsp baking powder
1 cup curd
½ cup Water to knead the dough
Salt to taste
2 tbsp Chopped Garlic
¼ cup chopped coriander leaves
2 tsp kalonji
2 tsp sesame seeds
Butter to coat on naan
In a wide vessel take the maida, make an impression in the center.
Pour the curd and add baking soda and baking powder to this.
Mix it well…after osme time you see due to reaction of baking soda and powder with the curd bubbles start to form.(It acts as yeast and make the naan fluffy)
Now add salt, oil to this and mix it well.
Add water little by little and knead to a soft dough.
Coat the dough with oil so that it will not dry.
Cover the dough with a damp cloth so that it will remain moist.
Rest the dough for 10 to 15 min…no need to keep for more time for proofing. It is instant one.
Then make big lemon size dumpling.
Tap the dumpling with dry flour and roll the dough in an oval shape(You can roll to any shape like circle, triangle ther is no particular shape for this)
Roll the naan little thick coparing to roti.
Meanwhile heat the tava for baking the naan.
Now sprinkle chopped garlic on this and press it little so that it is fixed with the naan.
Then sprinkle kalonji and sesame seeds on this, then top with chopped coriander leaves.
Now with light hand just roll it so that it is well sticked to the naan.
Now place the naan on hot tava…by keeping the garlic part on upper side.
After some time you see bubbles start form…le tit cook from lower side for some time in low flame.
When it is done …just remove from tava and place it on roti holder(we call it roti seka).
Make the flame high…and just place the holder little up same as tava.
Turn the roti holder os that the naan is cooked from all sides.
Spread butter on this…serve this hot naan with your favourite butter panner or mix veg.
You can prepare without garlic and coriander leaves also.
You can roll the dumpling into any shape…
Rest the dough by covering a damp cloth and coat the dough with some oil so that it will remain moist.
You can use chimta also as roti holder…for me the roti seka is more convenient.
No need to spread water on naan…it is simple like making roti only.
Finely chop the garlic…so that you can get burnt garlic flavour.
