So friends today we prepare different idli varieties…sometimes idli are left and we don’t want to repeat the same food again. Then in this way you can prepare 3 types of idli dishes…and it is perfect for school tiffin box even if elders also love it. So lets get started
So the 3 idli recipes are
Idli Upma
Idli Manchurian
Tava Idli
For Idli Upma
Preparation Time 10 min
Cooking Time 10 min
Serving Persons 4
Ingredients
7 to 8 idli crumbled
4 green chili slitted
1 medium onion chopped
¼ tsp turmeric powder
1 whole red chili
1 tsp mustard seeds
½ tsp cumin seeds
1 tsp moong dal
1 tsp chana dal
a pinch of asafoetida
10-12 curry leaves
1 tbsp chopped coriander leaves
1 tbsp oil
Salt to taste
Procedure
Heat oil, add peanuts.
Roast it crispy in low flame.
Next add whloe red chili, mustard seeds, cumin seeds , moongdal n asafoetida ,sauté for few seconds.
When mustard seeds start crackle, add green chili n ginger paste to this.
When chana dal little crispy, add chopped onion with a pinch of salt so that onion is cooked faster.
When onion turns transluscent, add turmeric powder n mix it well.
Now add crumbled idli n salt, mix it well.
Cook for some time n finally add choppe dcoriander leaves.
Serve hot…
For Idli Manchurian
Preparation Time 10 min
Cooking Time 10 min
Serving Persons 4
Ingredients
6 to 8 idli cut into cubes
1 large onion cut into cubes and removed layers
½ cup green capsicum cut into cubes
½ cup green capsicum cut into cubes
2 gren chili chopped
½ tsp chopped ginger
1 tsp chopped garlic
½ cup maida
¼ cup corn flour
¼ cup rice flour
½ tsp red chili powder
Water to make semi thick slurry
1 tsp black pepper powder
2 tbsp tomato sauce
1 tbsp chili sauce
1 tsp soya sauce
2 tsp oil
Salt to taste
Oil to deep fry
Procedure
In a bowl , add maida, corn flour, rice flour ,chili powder n salt with water and make a semithick slurry.
Meanwhile heat oil for deep frying.
Dip the idli cubes into the slurry and put into hot oil.
Deep fry these idli cubese in low to medium flame till it is crispy.
Now in a pan heat oil ,add chopped green chili, ginger n garlic.
Saute for few seconds.
Add the onion with little salt and sauté in high flame.
Next goes in the green n red capsicum, sauté in high flame.
Then add all sauces, black pepper powder, salt and mix it well.
Add the fried idli cubes and mix it in high flame.
Serve hot…
For Tava Idli
Preparation Time 5 min
Cooking Time 6 to 8 min
Serving Persons 4
Ingredients
8 idli
2 tbsp butter
1 tbsp+2 tsp idli podi
1 tbsp water
1 medium onion chopped
2 tbsp chopped coriander leaves
Procedure
Heat butter, when it starts melting add podi powder to this.
Add water and cook for some time.
Now add chopped onion n cook it little.
Add chopped coriander leaves and place the idli on this mixture.
Then turn idli and spread it over the masala so that it is well coated on idli.
Let idli cook from both sides till little crisp , serve hot…
