
Jahni-Alu Bhaja
One more sabji from Odissa…jahni is nothing but dodka in hindi,ridge-gourd in english
Ingredients
2 medium ridge-gourds(peeled n cut into big pieces)
1 medium potato(cut into long slices)
1 small onion thin sliced
2 green chili slitted
1 tsp oil
1/4 tsp moong dal
1/4 tsp turmeric powder
salt to taste
Procedure
Heat oil,add moong dal n green chili.(moong dal also same crunchy taste as udad dal)
Add slice onion with pinch of salt ,stir fry till golden color.
Now add dodka pieces n saute for 2 min in high flame.
Now add potato long slices with turmeric powder,mix well.
Cover the lid for 10 min in medium flame,stir in between.
Finally add salt n stir fry for 2 min.
Serve hot with rice n dal…
