Karela Chips in Hindi I Bittergourd Chips I Pavakkai Chips I roshniscuisine

Karela Chips…is it super crispy, crunchy…well goes with rice. We can have this just  as it is. Some don’t like karela…then it is a perfect option I bet they love Karela…in this you cant have this btter taste of it.
So lets get started…

Preparation Time 10min
Cooking Time  5 to 6 min per batch
Serving Persons 4 to 6

Ingredients Required

2 medium size karela
3 tbsp rice flour
¼ tsp turmeric powder
½ tsp red chili powder
1 tsp sesame seeds
Water to mix the flour with chips
Salt to taste
OIL to deep fry

Procedure

Cut both the ends.
Now cut into thin slices(no need to peel or discard the seeds).
Mix all the ingredients except water n oil.
Now add water little by little so that the mixture is well coated with each slice.
Meanwhile heat oil for deep frying.
Now put the karela slices into hot oil one by one.
Deep fry in low to medium heat till it turns into golden colour and crispy.
Turn in between so that all the slices are evenly fried.
when it is done…remove from hot oil and keep ona n absorbent paper so that excess oil is drained out.
Serve hot with rice,dal…

Notes

Add little water onlys o that the rice flour is well coated with each karela slices.
Cut the karela into thin slices…no need to peel or discard the seeds.
It adds a crispy effect to the chips.
If big seeds or the karela is ripen…then discard it.
Put the karela slices one by one…so that it doesnot stick with each other.
If it is sticked to each other also,after some time it seprated due to frying.
