Jackfruit is again one more favourite recipe of my daughter Sarthika…whenever I prepare this she is eagerly waiting to have this with garmagaram roti…

Now coming to recipe part…
 
Preparation Time:20 min
Cooking Time :30 min
Serving Persons :4
 
Ingredients Required
 
250 gm jackfruit peeled n cut into cube size
1 medium size potato peeled n cut into cubes
2 medium size onion sliced n cut into halves
3 medium size tomatoes
3 green chilis
1 inch ginger piece
2 big garlic cloves
1 tsp coriander powder
1/2 tsp cumin powder
1/4 tsp turmeric powder
1/2 tsp garam masala
1/2 tsp red chili powder
4 tbsp mustard oil
2 bay leaves
Salt to taste
 
Procedure
 
Heat 3 tbsp mustard oil n when smoke arise add jackfruit n potaot cubes.
 
Shallow fry this is medium high flame till it little crisp from outside and golden color.
 
Heat rest 1 tbsp mustard oil and add bay leaves.
 
Then add sliced onion with little salt n saute it till it turns golden brown color.
 
Puree the tomatoes,green chili,ginger and garlic.
 
Now add the shallow fried jackfruit and potato cubes to the onion mixture and saute for 3 to 5 min.
 
Add the tomato puree and mix well.
 
Let it cook in low flame tlli the jackfruit and potato is properly cooked and softened.
 
Cover the lid.
 
Now add all spices and masala powder to this and mix well.
 
Cook for 1 min so that all masala properly absorbed.
 
Serve hot with garmagaram roti and raita…
 
Notes:Mustard oil gives a nice fragnant and flavor to the dish…but if you don’t prefer mustard oil you can use normal cooking oil.
 
For preparing it more fast you can fry the jackfruit and potatoes also.
 

You can prepare this using only jackfruit as I have prepared this fr a party…and no party is complete with potato so I have used potatoes here and kids also love potatoes…
