Ragi Idly



1 cup udad daal
2 cups ragi flour
1/3 cup of poha
Water to make idly batter
Salt to taste

Oil to grease idly


Soak udad daal for 3 hrs.

Soak poha for 15 min

Drain excess water n make a smooth paste of udad daal n poha by adding little little water.

Now add ragi flour n water, mix it properly .

Ferment it atleast for 8 to 10 hrs. It becomes double in volume.

Now add salt to this batter.

Grease oil on the idly maker plates n fill with idly batter.

Steam this covered atleast for 10 min.

Carefully remove these idlies using a spatula .

Serve with sambar or chutney…
