Tomato Poda it is a popular recipe of Odisha…made in jiffy. So easy to prepare well goes with rice. Poda means roasted,it is baked or roasted in open flame,it has a baked flavour. Some dayz before I haveuploaded baigana poda recipe too…actually potato,brinjal and tomato all baked together…its taste divine with rice.I personally prefer this tomato poda as it is sour in taste…So lets get started

Preparation Time 5 min
Cooking Time 4 to 5 min per tomato
Serving Persons 3 to 4

Ingredients Required

2 medium tomatoes
1 medium onion chopped
2 green chili slitted
1 garlic clove crushed n chopped
1 tbsp chopped coriander leaves
1 tsp mustard oil
Salt to taste

Now roast the tomato in open flame.
Insert a fork into the tomato so we can easily turn it from all sides to roast it.
After few minutes it is completly roasted  and let it cool down.
Take out from flame and peel the outer skin and mash it with hands.
Now add other res tingredients to this and mix it well,by just crushing the green chili to get its flavour.
Its done…serve with rice.

Notes

You  can cut tomatoes into half and shallowfry on tava also.
You can coat oil on tomatoes and  bake it in open flame.
If you don’t want raw garlic flavour,just skip it.
You can use normal cooking oil instead of mustard oil.
I bake in open flame,or o roti holder or on tava…
