Toroda-Alu Bhaja(Tondli-Aloo Bhaji)
So many names of this vegetable..it also called as vargoli(hindi), toroda(odiya) tendli(marathi), kunduru(uttarpradesh) etc…
Surprised how i got this vegetable in jakarta there is a story behind this..
One day my friend ronak asked me did u know how to prpare any dish with one veggie called labu-siam i dont have any idea about this so she prepared it When i asked how the bhaji comes out she told it has taste of tondli in India, i am so happy, run to market next day and bring that veggie and made it…I got the same taste which i lost long days before thanx a lot Ronak
1 medium potato
15-18 tondli(for India)
2 medium labu-siam(for indonesia)
2 green chili slitted
1/8 tsp turmeric powder
1 tsp oil
1/8 tsp udad dal
salt to taste
Cut labu siam or tondli long thick slices same for potato.(don’t peel the cover).
(For tondli or labu siam you have to cut both the ends).
Now heat oil, add udad dal n slitted green chili.
When udad dal turns golden add all veggies. Add turmeric powder.
Mix properly n cover the lid for 5-6 min. In between stir it 2-3 times.
Now add salt to this n mix it.
Have this with chapati or rice.
