Paneer Masala video/Paneer Makhani in hindi/Paneer Butter Masala dhaba style by roshniscuisine


Hi frndz…wanna have restaurant style paneer butter masala or paneer makhani dhaba style…then this is the recipe for you…it well goes with roti,naan,pulao…

I have prepared this during my last visit to India…all loved it so much…they have this as it is only.All are saying its like restaurant type…

Preparation Time 10 min

Cooking Time       25 to 30 min

Serving Persons     4


250 gm paneer cut into cubes

10 to 15 frozen green peas

2 medium onion cut into big cubes
3 medium tomatoes
 2 green chili slitted
1 tsp ginger paste
1 tsp garlic paste
1 bayleaf
¼ tsp cumin seeds

1 star anise

1 big cardamom

1 small cardamom

1 clove

1 tsp coriander powder
½ tsp cumin powder
½ tsp garam masala

½ tsp red chili powder
¼ tsp degi mirch powder
¼ cup malai or cream
½ cup water
1 tbsp chopped coriander leaves

2 tbsp oil
1 tbsp butter
Salt to taste


Heat 1 tbsp oil first.
When it is properly hot,add onion cubes,green chili and ginger-garlic paste.
Add a pinchof salt so that onion are cooked faster.
Saute this for few min till the onions turn into golden colour.
Make it cool down and grind to a smooth paste.
Meanwhile boil water and blanch the tomatoes for 3 to 5 min.
Before blanching,make a cut on top so that after blanching it is easier to peel.
Now make it cool down little bit,remove the peel.
Then scoop out the seeds from inside the tomatoes.
Whatever the pulp left out,grind this to a smooth puree.
Now heat rest oil and homemade butter to the pan.
Add bay leaf,star anise,big cardamom,small cardamom,clove,cumin seeds to this.
When cumin seeds start splutter,add the onion paste.
Saute this for 3 to 5 min,till the onion paste cooked properly and little dried up.
Now add the tomato puree to this,sauté this for few min.
After some time you can observe the tomato puree leaves oil from all sides.
Add all spice masala to this and sauté for 1 min.

It’s the time to add water(I have used that blanched water) and frozen green peas to this.
Boil for some time,then add homemade malai and mix this well.
Noe the time to add paneer cubes,just cook this maximum for 2 min.
Otherwise paneer cubes get harder.
Now add chopped coriander leaves and switch off the flame.
Its done…serve hot with roti,naan or pulao.


I forgot to add turmeric powder…you can use.
You can use any cooking cream in place of malai.
You can use cashew paste to make the gravy more creamy and rich.
You can sauté the tomatoes and puree it also instead of blanching.
Don’t throw the seed part of tomatoes,you can use that in daal.
You can use kasuri methi instead of coriander leaves.

I have used less green peas here as per our family preference,but you can use more.
